Dundonald Primary School

To prepare our pupils for future life, we encourage them to take on roles of responsibility within the school, one of those roles being an Arts’ Ambassador. This position is open for pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 with two representatives selected from each class.

Our Arts’ Ambassadors show commitment to their role and give up their own time to carry out their duties. Their role is to promote the Arts – music, dance, drama and art - across the school. They do this in a variety of ways, for example by helping to organise school-wide events such as competitions and International Week (which always has a strong arts element), running arts focused clubs during lunchtimes and helping out in practical ways such as organising a rota of children to perform in assemblies.

They also seek out the views of other children in their class, through discussions and questionnaires, on how the arts provision in our school could be strengthened. Their input helps to shape a varied and vivid curriculum in these areas.
