Thursday 19 December 2024 Inter-house Art Competition Results We are delighted to announce the results of our Inter-house Art Competition. This year the theme was 'Planet Earth', and we were thrilled to see the incredible talent and creativity displayed by all the students. The artwork was nothing short of amazing, and choosing the winners was no easy task.

Friday 22 November 2024 Girls' Football Success We are thrilled tp announce that our girls' football team has emerged as champions in this year's tournament! The competition was fierce, with teams displaying incredible skill and sportsmanship, but our team stood out with their determination and teamwork.

Friday 22 November 2024 Kindness at Dundonald As part of our ongoing behaviour project at Dundonald this month we have been focusing on Kindness, specifically small acts of kindness, good manners, greetings and holding doors for people. We see lots of example of kindness around the school every day and are encouraging more positive behaviour thorugh discussions with pupils in class and assemblies.

Friday 25 October 2024 Social Morning Following hot on the heels of our last Social Morning on World Mental Health Day we held another social morning on the last day of the half term. Thank you to everyone who attended for a drink and a chat with staff before school started. It was a lovely way to begin the day.

Friday 25 October 2024 Year 5/6 Rugby Tournament On Monday 21st October our Year 5 and 6 rugby teams participated in the MSSP Rugby Tournament, competing against 17 schools across the borough. Our players demonstrated great determination, teamwork and skill throughout the event.

Friday 25 October 2024 Year 5/6 Football Tournament On 18th October our talented Year 5 and year 6 football team took part in the highly anticipated MSSP Borough Football Championships. Competing against 34 schools from across the borough, our teams displayed outstanding skill, teamwork and determination throughout the tournament.

Friday 18 October 2024 Year 5LM Art Project 5LM completed mixed meida portraits in Art this week. We used photographs of ourselves and experimented with a range of materials and techniques to plan ideas for a mixed media self-portrait. We thought about creating an atmosphere, trying different compositions, using more or less of the photo, the effect of colour and communicating something about ourselves.

Thursday 17 October 2024 Rights Respecting School Council Thank you to every child who wrote and submitted their manifesto to be a part of this year's Rights Respecting School Council group. The teachers were so impressed with the quality of the manifestos and the effort that was put into them.

Friday 11 October 2024 MSSP Y4/5/6 Cross Country What an incredible day it was at the MSSP Cross Country Competition. An absolutely remarkable effort for all the children who all completed the race which was over 1.5km long! All the children competed in races with over 75 competitors from various schools across the borough.

Thursday 10 October 2024 Year 6 Cycling Training Some of our Year 6 pupils have been taking part in Level 2 cycling training with specialist instructors this week.

Thursday 10 October 2024 Congratulations Alfie! Alfie in year 4 completed the Marvellous Makers Library Summer Reading Challenge this summer which meant that that he had to read six books and then he was entered into a competition with others who had completed the challenge.

Thursday 18 July 2024 Year 6 Performance Year 6 put on incredible performances this week for their end of year play. They delivered a sterling rendition of Romeo and Juliet and and a parent commented "We were really impressed with all the talented pupils and how much effort they put into this performance. I would like to say thank you for Mr McGavin and and all the staff who worked on this performance."

Thursday 6 June 2024 Early Years Renovation The Early Years children have had a wonderful return to school this week exploring their brilliant new classrooms! We had an exciting delivery from Early Excellence over the half term break and all of the classrooms spaces have been transformed.

Friday 10 May 2024 Year 1M Science and art combine! Year 1 are learning all about plants in Science and as part of their topic they had a lovely lesson examining the features of plants and recreating them as works of art using a variety of paints and pencils.

Friday 3 May 2024 Greenfingered Year 1 Year 1 demonstrated some green fingers this week! They have all been busy planting in their classroom and hope to be able to try some delicious school grown broad beans in the summer!

Monday 29 April 2024 Year 5 Slippers Before Easter Year 5 created their own wonderful,comfortable and fashionable slippers. We think you will agree that the end results are fantastic!

Thursday 18 April 2024 Year 2 Trip to Morden Hall Park Year 2 started off their summer term with a Science trip to Morden hall Park to find invertebrates in their micro habitats. We all felt like real scientists looking under logs and in a river to find some little creatures!

Thursday 18 April 2024 Big Foot Hidden figures workshop Adrian from Big Foot Arts visited Dundonald this week to educate and entertain our year 5 and year 6 pupils with his Hidden Figures workshop. He used drama to inform us about people of colour in history who were our unsung heroes but whom have had an impact on how we live now.

Thursday 14 March 2024 Year 5 & 6 Tag Rugby Borough Competition The Y5/6 Rugby team did themselves and the school proud in the Borough Championships at Old Ruts Club on 8th March. The team grew into the tournament and finished an admirable 10th in the Borough.

Friday 8 March 2024 World Book Day We had another amazing World Book Day celebration at school this week. The children enjoyed reading, creating and sharing books together. We cam together for a celebration assembly and were thrilled to see so many costumes.

Friday 23 February 2024 Sensory Room update Darcey in Year 6 recently raised £875 through a sponsored swim. She donated this to the school so we could buy new resources for our Sensory room. Today she 'opened' our room and spent some time with her sisters Isla and Poppy exploring the new resources.
