On Monday we went to a Junior Citizenship event at the Chaucer Centre. It runs a series of workshops and presentations by organisations like the London Fire Brigade, Transport for London, Met Police and NHS Ambulance Service designed to give children information and strategies for being safer at home, when they're out and about and on their way to school. The children learnt lots of important safety lessons and quite a few fun facts.

Luca said "I learnt that electirc scooters are illegal to ride on roads and you can get a fine of £500!"

Ana said "Did you know that a bus has 23 CCTV cameras?"

Manuella said "You should never put a smoke detector in the kitchen because when you make food with steam it can set it off. You need a heat detector instead."

Rafael said "Did you know there are 22000 people signed up to Merton Neighbourhood Watch?"
